Red McAdam returns home to Arizona for the release of his sophomore record Comic Western Gothic. He and his 5-piece band will share the stage with dear friends and Phoenix legends Katie Mae and the Lubrication. Fresh off a season of wildland firefighting, Red will hit the road for 6 months on a sprawling full-national tour. He'll make it to 40 states, but will start where his heart abides, home once again in Arizona.

On Comic Western Gothic, Red McAdam’s playful outsider country music shines; he presents an inventive vision of what the genre can be. A consummate road dog, he brings to this sophomore album the frenetic, dynamic, and occasionally delirious performances he spent years honing in dives, dancehalls, and theaters. In Red’s rich, risky blend of traditional honkytonk, folk and western swing draws, listeners will recognize the Lone Star eccentricities of Terry Allen and Guy Clark, forlorn folk sensibilities of Elizabeth Cotton and Karen Dalton, and the driving genre-bending of The Band and Little Feat. A Jersey City, NJ native, Red makes no effort to fit the country mold, but rather draws from the unique and largely unsung landscape of his world. Stranger-than-fiction episodes from his time in the emergency services, hazy memories from the road, preposterous characters with bizarre motives, and plain old bullshit mingle with vulnerable expressions of a tumultuous life and threadbare heart. A Wildland Firefighter, EMT, passionate outdoorsman, recovering alcoholic, and chronic rambler—McAdam earned whatever authenticity the country audience craves through his life, not place of birth.
