In November, SPIN Magazine featured Family of Light in their On the Griddle column for their release “Hurt Me Smile.” The publication described the project with vivid imagery: "Sheer curtains languidly billowing into a liminal space. Desolation, isolation, determination. fire and dancing shadows in a dark cave." SPIN also praised the band's sound for its "pedal experimentation and bouncy beats," layered with "angelic vocal melodies." Family of Light has released both of their records on vinyl through SunDog Sound. Their latest album stays rooted in psychedelia while expanding into shoegaze textures and drawing influence from 1980s and 1990s alternative music, solidifying the band's evolving sonic identity.
